Dee-licious. Delightful! And deep. Adore the specific emotions and flavors, matched only by the beauty of the grandmother’s intention.

I celebrate your speculative gifts 🥰 I submitted a cli-fi short story at one minute to midnight last night. Today it seems both underwhelming and overwrought. Still my heart beams for the bravery of it

Ohhh thanks so much. Your note absolutely made my day :)

You’ve submitted, and that’s a win in my book. The short story market is probably the toughest it’s ever been and I see even award-winning writers finding it hard to break through this year. Writing, to me, has to be its own reward, otherwise despair is guarateed.

Agree 💯 gotta love the story and working the craft.

I did hear that short stories are getting sold to films, even unpublished.

We shall carry on making beauty

Love it! Have you read Automatic Noodle by Annalee Newitz? It’s also about androids learning to cook and they open their own restaurant in 2056 post-civil war California. Super cozy read and not-so-subtle allegory for post-emancipation rights of Black citizens.
