"Hope Is the Thing with Circuits and Steel"
A little story about plucky grandmothers, food and robots with feelings
For the past year, along with scheming new Betwixt stories with Hazel, I’ve been writing fantasy and science fiction. I’d never thought of myself as a writer, or been one of those cool Star Trek people, so it came as a big surprise when one of my things sold to a professional magazine.
I’m so happy to share with you “Hope Is the Thing With Circuits and Steel”, published in Flash Fiction Online today.
It’s a quick 5-min read that tells the story of a bunch of grandmothers who join an android rebellion, end up cooking for the little robots and teach them how to feel.
My assigned editor said the story made her tear up. I hope you like it, too, and if you do, please let me know in a comment on the story’s website. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
